Hello!

My name's Chloe Cooper, I’m an artist living in Thamesmead and this blog documents my Pull Up A Chair residency with Quiet Down There, Ideas Test and local artist Jo Eden on the Isle of Sheppey.

Before I made it to the island I talked to people involved in local history, creative practices and community groups over Zoom. I also set up a creative letter exchange as a way to gather people's experiences of what it's like on Sheppey before I arrived. It was tricky getting people to take part in letter writing so I stuck to Zoom meetings and visiting the island when I could, which turned out to be 4 weekends in June 2021.
